Leaders,

While we cannot say many things with certainty in these days, we CAN unequivocally say that Spring has arrived. In the Bay Area Regional Academy, we are busy planning for summer learning activities, including our June Leading for Justice Summit (more below!), and already thinking about how we can best serve your professional learning needs in the 25-26 school year.

March is a long month in the K-12 world, and we wish you a Spring full of rest and renewal wherever you may find it. Please consider joining us in June at the Summit and as always, reach out to us with any professional learning ideas or questions you may have!

In solidarity,
Erin, Wes, Carrie, Richard, and Kari (BARA Team)

Happening at BARA

Interview Clinic

This past month, leaders from across the Bay Area participated in the BARA Leadership Interview Clinic. Through this offering, teacher, site, and systems leaders had the opportunity to refine their job application materials, practice interview strategies, and receive individualized feedback from experienced facilitators.

As one participant shared: "“Thank you again for the invaluable opportunity to focus my leadership interview skills! It was transformative. It helped me distill my values and sharpened my focus on strengths.”

BARA presents at ACSA

This March, the Bay Area Regional Academy (BARA) showcased BARA’s affinity groups at the ACSA Equity Institute. The groups are designed to uplift, amplify, and empower underrepresented leaders of color, as well as support white leaders to examine and reflect on their identities and role in anti-racist work. The design of these groups is both rooted in current research on affinity spaces, as well as the subject of a current research study exploring best practices for leader affinity networks. Click here to learn more about BARA affinity networks, which we will also continue to offer next school yearl.
