Established through a generous Google grant, Rising STEM Scholars is an initiative between the Kapor Center for Social Impact; Equal Opportunity Schools; Kingmakers of Oakland; and DonorsChoose. Its fundamental mission is to expand the enrollment and success of low-income students, female students, and students of color in AP STEM courses.
We take a comprehensive approach to fixing the leaks at every stage of the tech pipeline, from K-12 education through the workplace with education programs, advocacy, and social impact investing.
By grounding our approach in Targeted Universalism and unapologetically focusing on Black boys, our work consequently empowers children and families of all backgrounds.
Ensuring that low-income and students of color have equitable access to America's most academically intense high school programs and succeed at the highest levels.
We make it easy for anyone to help a teacher in need, moving us closer to a nation where students in every community have the tools and experiences they need for a great education. But we can’t do it alone. Join us!
