January 19–20, 2024, Hotel Shattuck Plaza, Berkeley, CA
Take a mid-year pause to reflect on your efforts toward realizing justice as you investigate systems thinking that will boost your work this year and beyond. Join in provocative and collaborative discussions with leaders from across the Bay Area, and walk away with renewed capacity and energy for creating change.
Site leaders, teacher leaders, and district leaders are encouraged to attend this no-cost event, brought to you by the 21CSLA Alameda Regional Academy. Bring a team!
Over the course of the two day summit, participants will:
- Identify terms and systemic approaches that are rooted in deficit thinking and reframe them using socially-just language
- Identify specific ways that educators can intentionally empower families
- Reflect on the relationship between policy, social justice, and promoting equitable outcomes for students
- Identify guiding principles and language to effectively challenge colleagues when their behavior is harmful to students and not aligned with social justice
