Partnership Supports Five Preservice Teachers

TRUE Scholars Funded by Brinton Family, Oakland Schools, Salesforce

A unique partnership forged by Professor Jabari Mahiri, who holds the Brinton Family Chair in Urban Education, with the Oakland Unified School District, and Salesforce, has afforded a scholarship opportunity for five GSE students pursuing their MA in education and teaching credential through our Berkeley Educators for Equity and Excellence program (BE3).

The students are part of the inaugural class of Targeted Recruitment of Urban Educators (TRUE) scholars, an effort designed to identify, recruit, and further support the admission and eventual graduation of preservice teachers of color. We invite you to watch the videos below and get to know our TRUE Scholars.
