Rodrigo Sandoval Perez

Rodrigo Sandoval-Perez is a Master’s degree and Administrative Services Credential candidate in the 25th cohort of the Principal Leadership Institute at UC Berkeley’s School of Education. His academic interests include post-secondary preparation and matriculation, culturally responsive and trauma informed relationship building, and equitable technology access.

Rodrigo has served as the school counselor at his former high school school of Life Academy of Health and Bioscience in the heart of the Fruitvale of Oakland, CA. As the counselor for grades 6 through 12, affectionately known as “Roro” to students and school community, Rodrigo has the opportunity to get to know his students for over 7 years. Over his 10 years as school counselor, Rodrigo has served as the lead member in the Academic Multi-Tiered Systems of Support team, Advisory Leadership Team, Instructional Leadership Team, grade level lead for grades 11 and 12, and leads the college and career counseling team.

Prior to Life Academy, Rodrigo earned a BA in Ethnic Studies and Chicano Studies with a minor in Education from UC Berkeley. Rodrigo holds a CA PPS credential, which he worked towards by earning a MEd in School Counseling and MA in Psychological Counseling from Teachers College, Columbia University.

Outside of his work, Rodrigo loves spending time with his family, cooking Mexican food, documenting his life through his photography.
