Yelena Zakharyevich joined the Leadership Programs as Operations Manager in 2020, after four years working as center director of Clark Kerr Child Development Center ECEP at UC Berkeley. Yelena brings to the PLI her lifelong commitment to the field of education. She has over 20 years of experience in various roles, starting her career as a high school biology teacher, worked as an administrator at Community Child Care Council of Alameda County, and leading staff in multiple sites of the Head Start program in San Francisco. Yelena brings experiences working with diverse populations, motivating the learning process, influenced by personal achievements, supporting professional growth. Yelena manages the administrative services for the Master’s degree program at PLI, Leadership Support Program, and LEAD Ed.D. program; provides support during the admission process; and completes credentials and other short-term projects for educational leaders. During her free time, she enjoys ice-skating, spending time with her family, travel, and photography.
