Candace is a Master's degree candidate in the 24th cohort of the Principal Leadership Institute program at UC Berkeley's School of Education. Her academic interests in education include Ethnic Studies pedagogy, building culturally relevant and sustaining curriculum, socio-emotional learning , and professional development.
Candace currently serves as the Professional Development Coordinator, Instructional Coach, Leadership team member, and history teacher at Mills High School in the San Mateo Union High School District. She has taught World History, Ethnic Studies, and U.S. History. She is also the Anti-Bias Grant coordinator for the San Mateo Union High School District. Candace spent her first four years of teaching at Hillsdale High School in the same school district. She has worked at SMUHSD for a total of 7 years.
In 2017, Candace earned a BA in International Economics with a French concentration at the University of Notre Dame in Indiana. In 2018, she earned a MA in Education from Stanford University with a single subject social studies credential.
Outside of her work in education, Candace can be found at the gym and spending time with friends and family.
