Daechelle Moore

Daechelle is earning her administrative services credential and Masters of Arts in Educational Leadership in the Principal Leadership Institute at UC Berkeley.  She is a Bay Area native who began her journey working with children as an after-school teacher and camp counselor locally, in the city of San Pablo, during her teenage years. Daechelle attended San Francisco State University for her undergraduate and graduate degrees. There she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education, a Master of Arts in Special Education, as well as graduate certificates in Autism Spectrum and Inclusive Early Childhood. During her tenure there she participated in a study abroad program in Cape Town, South Africa implementing curriculum and supporting teachers.

During her undergraduate and graduate journey, Daechelle transitioned to early childhood education and began teaching in toddler and preschool classrooms in San Francisco. In 2019, she joined Oakland Unified School District as a teacher in a mild-moderate self-contained program where she served in that position for 3 years. Currently, she is an early childhood resource specialist serving students and families navigating special education services.

Daechelle believes children learn best through play, social interaction, and meaningful, interest-based activities. Her approach supports autonomy, inclusive practices and guided learning through scaffolding. Daechelle also values strong partnerships with families to support each child’s development.

In her free time, Daechelle enjoys spending time with family and friends, listening to music, dancing, reading books and going to various events.
