Harry Xiao

Harry Xiao is a first-year Ph.D. student in School Psychology at the Berkeley School of Education (BSE).

Before joining BSE, he graduated from Brandeis University with dual degrees in Psychology and Economics. As an undergraduate, he conducted research on ethnic–racial identity, educational inequities, and temperament using quantitative, qualitative, and neuroimaging methodologies.

His current research interests focus on:
a) the role of ethnic–racial identity in shaping marginalized students’ experiences and adjustment; b) risk and resilience factors influencing the well-being and developmental trajectories of marginalized youth; and c) the evaluation and implementation of culturally responsive interventions (e.g., trauma-informed practices) to promote the mental health and academic thriving of diverse student populations.
