rocky chiasson

rocky chiasson is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in the Principal Leadership Institute (PLI) at UC Berkeley’s School of Education, with an anticipated graduation in Summer 2025. With 19 years of experience in California’s public school system, rocky brings a deep commitment to student well-being and educational equity. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, a Master’s degree in Social Work, and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).

Over the course of her career, rocky has dedicated herself to social service and education, serving communities in the areas of developmental disabilities, addiction treatment, and special education. Her passion for education was sparked during a graduate internship at El Cerrito High School, where she discovered the profound impact of social work within school environments. She went on to serve as a School Social Worker in the San Francisco Unified School District, supporting students across multiple campuses. Later, she joined the Contra Costa County Office of Education, where she worked with K–12 students in Special Education to cultivate a safe and inclusive learning space that honors the individual needs of every child.

rocky recently stepped into a new administrative leadership role as a Special Education Coordinator in the Bay Area, where she continues to advocate for equity, inclusion, and compassionate education. Her work is guided by a belief in the transformative power of support and social justice—and nothing gives her greater joy than watching her students graduate with confidence and pride, prepared for whatever comes next.

Outside of her professional life, rocky is an avid traveler who enjoys exploring new places with her family and finding peace in the serenity of nature. She is endlessly creative, always immersed in a new project or craft, and thrives on finding fresh ways to express herself.
