Randal Fraters Jr. is a Master’s degree and Administrative Services Credential candidate in the 25th cohort of UC Berkeley’s Principal Leadership Institute.
Currently, Randal serves as the Literacy Teacher on Special Assignment at Oakland Technical High School. His mission is to support literacy across the school. This is done through coordinating grade-level teams of teachers on learning together from shared practices or curriculum, coaching teachers one-on-one, pushing into classrooms to directly support students, and teaching a class or two. Prior to this role, Randal taught English and Ethnic Studies to 9th graders for five years at this same school.
Randal’s educational background includes a Master’s Degree in Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, where he received his teaching credential. His History and Politics undergraduate degrees are from Saint Mary’s College of California.
In his free time, Randal enjoys reading and writing, often accompanied by his two cats. When the weather is nice, he can often be found somewhere near the bay, enjoying the water, wind, and sun.
