rocky chiasson

rocky chiasson is a Master’s student in the Principal Leadership Institute (PLI) at UC Berkeley’s School of Education. She has 19 years of experience as an educator in the California public school system. Rocky holds a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, a Master's Degree in Social Work, and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).

rocky has worked in social services for most of her professional career, in the fields of developmental disabilities, addiction treatment, and education. rocky found a love for education while completing her graduate school internship at El Cerrito High School. She began as a School Social Worker with the San Francisco Unified School District, working at several schools throughout the city. rocky went on to work for the Contra Costa County Office of Education where she served K-12 students in Special Education, assisting to create a supported and caring environment where students feel safe, seen, and heard.

Most recently, rocky accepted a position as Program Administrator of social-emotional programs at Mt. Diablo Unified School District. She is dedicated to promoting the principles of advocacy, support, and social justice to students, families, and staff.  Her greatest sense of fulfillment comes from witnessing her students walk the stage at graduation, ready to take that next step in their lives.

In her free time, rocky enjoys exploring new destinations with her family, taking in the beauty and tranquility of nature. She is a creative individual, never without a project or craft, and is constantly seeking new ways to express herself.
