Victoria Rosales-Mangisel is a dedicated educator and Master's degree candidate in the 24th cohort of the Principal Leadership Institute program at UC Berkeley's School of Education. Victoria's education journey began in 2014 as a paraeducator in a moderate-severe classroom, followed by a role as a core paraeducator in SFUSD. In 2017, she transitioned to become a Resource Program Specialist for special education, serving two vastly different elementary schools in the Ingleside and West Portal neighborhoods. It was during this time that Victoria became acutely aware of the educational inequities within urban districts, fueling her commitment to fostering inclusive learning environments where every student has the opportunity to thrive.
Currently serving as the lead Resource Program Specialist at an elementary school in Ingleside, Victoria advocates for student equity as a member of the Instructional Leadership Team. As the site testing coordinator, Victoria strives to improve student outcomes by analyzing assessment data to pinpoint areas requiring focused support. Victoria participated in the UESF Teacher Leaders Program, where she collaborated on an action research project looking at the impacts of shifting to a workload model for elementary resource specialists in SFUSD. To bolster student learning outcomes, adapt to changing educational demands, and refine her teaching methods for greater effectiveness and engagement Victoria is a National Board Certified Teacher for Exceptional Needs. Creating an impact beyond her site, Victoria mentors aspiring education specialists and supports National Board certification candidates in SFUSD.
Prior to her career in education, Victoria earned her BA in Psychology at the University of California, Riverside. She holds an MA in Sociology from San Jose State University. Her educational credentials include: Education Specialist credential, added authorizations for Reading and Literacy & Autism Spectrum Disorders, and a Wilson Dyslexia Practitioner Certification.
Outside of education, Victoria finds joy in various hobbies, including watching ghost shows, scrapbooking, baking, gardening, being a cat mom and indulging in an endless list of home DIY projects.
