The University Council for Educational Administration (UCEA) has awarded institutional membership to the Berkeley School of Education, opening the door to greater collaboration on the promotion and dissemination of research, professional learning, and educational policy.
UCEA formally welcomed the Berkeley School of Education during its annual convention in Seattle this week.
The U.S. Department of Education’s Institute for Education Sciences has awarded a $3 million grant to a research team led by the Public Policy Institute of California, UC Berkeley School of Education, UC San Diego, and California Department of Education to conduct a three-year study of pandemic recovery and equitable outcomes across 1,000 preK–12 districts in the state.
The mission of the nationally renowned Principal Leadership Institute (PLI) is to train educational leaders to be grounded in equity, social justice, and efffective teaching that is developmentally and culturally appropriate.
In order to do so, our students must see and feel what that actually looks like. Our longstanding partnership with AileyCamp, begun in 2015, provides that experience.
The UC Berkeley Graduate School of Education celebrated 106 students—including researchers, teachers, and leaders who earned their PhD’s or Master’s degree in eduction—during Commencement 2022 at Zellerbach Hall on May 20.
Join us in celebrating GSE Professor Geoffrey Saxe, who is the 2022 recipient of the American Educational Research Association (AERA) Presidential Citation. Conferred by AERA and Spencer Foundation President Na’ilah Suad Nasir, this presidential citation recognizes Professor Saxe for his contributions to theories of culture and cognition, his deep regard for the power of rigorous empirical work, and his incredible generosity as a research advisor and collaborator.
